I’m thrilled to offer personalized private instruction to students of all ages and ability levels.

Magic and Sleight of Hand have been my passion for over 50 years. I’ve often been asked to provide private lessons, but I never had the time because I was always “on the road,” plus I didn’t think I would enjoy it. My good friend Bill Kalush reached out to me after the quarantine started and invited me to be an instructor in the Conjuring Arts University online instructional series along with Michael Weber and Asi Wind. I thought about politely declining, as I had in the past, but world has changed for all of us and it’s time for reprioritizing and stepping outside our comfort zones… so I accepted, and I’m glad I did!

I had a blast! The students who signed up for the class were a terrific group of magic enthusiasts with varied experience and interests. I immediately felt a connection to each of them through our shared passion for magic and sleight of hand. And by “teaching” magic, I was learning so much as well. I found myself looking forward to my class every week, preparing the lessons, and catching up with the group. After the five week course finished I decided to keep going! It was an easy decision. So, I’m jumping in to Magic Instruction with both feet!

In one-hour online lessons, I’ll draw on my experience and knowledge to help you move to the next level along your magical journey. 

I know how valuable one-on-one mentorship can be in the field of magic. I was lucky enough to spend time with some of the Masters. Dai Vernon, Slydini, Albert Goshman, and Del Ray were some of my early influences and instructors. There’s no substitute for sitting down with those who have “been there and done that!” Some of my fondest memories are of great sleight of hand men like Roger Klause and Michael Skinner gently dismantling my fledgling deceptions and offering kind advice and encouragement. It’s how I grew and progressed in the art.

Each lesson will be tailored to your interests and abilities. From basic techniques to advanced theoretical and psychological underpinnings of magic effects, we will explore sleights, tricks, routine building, performance styles, original presentations, rehearsal strategies, magic theory, and beyond. In addition, I’ll be providing additional exclusive perks including my top-selling instructional videos (Sleight of Dave, Dave 2, and Magic Farm) free of charge upon booking a lesson. These videos teach many of the routines and techniques that have helped me build along-lasting career.
